The first and most key resource is the people you have. Managing them might feel like a full time job (it literally is), so don’t be overwhelmed and distribute responsibilities within the team. You don’t have to do everything! Remember that!

Metrics and Data
The management of people can be seen in an “objective” manner as follows:
- How much Experience does your team have? A metric of this might be years within the team or age.
- How old is your team? Keeping track of this might help you understand when people may leave it.
- How many people are in a leadership position? Is there a gender or age imbalance? Check ratios.
- Does the team have knowledge from all necessary areas for the development of the project? Check what they are majoring in or what their specialization is.
For doing this, in the rover team that I lead, we setup a Management area in notion with all relevant data regarding the people within the team, including personal details, contact information, access to licenses or buildings, etc. Our database of people includes the following:
- Name
- Government ID
- Position within the team (00-Captain, 01-Technical Lead, 01-NonTechincal Lead, 02-Member, 03-Probation, 04-Temporal, 05-Outside Colaborator, 08-OG, 09-Left Team)
- Email
- Phone Number
- Major (Aero, Mech,…)
- Year (Freshman, Sophomore,…)
- Department(s) they are in
- Specialization (Software, Electronics, Science,…)
